Target heart rate zone calculator
Find estimated moderate and vigorous exercise heart rates for your age. Private: it runs in your browser and nothing is sent to us.
How these zones are estimated
The American Heart Association estimates maximum heart rate as 220 minus your age. Moderate-intensity exercise is roughly 50% to 70% of that number, and vigorous exercise is roughly 70% to 85%.
These are averages. Some medicines, including beta blockers, lower your heart rate, and people with heart conditions may be given different targets. Ask your doctor before starting a new exercise plan if you have a health condition.
